Meet Shashi, Licensed Massage Therapist
Shashi has passion and curiosity about the body’s infinite capacity to heal. After years of learning about the mind and body connection, Shashi attended the Academy of Massage and Bodywork in Delaware to become a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2018. Shashi incorporates deep tissue, myofascial and trigger point therapy also drawing from Swedish, Thai, and sports massage approaches.
*Shashi is available Mondays 10am-4pm; Thursdays 1:30pm-7:30pm & Fridays 10am-3pm.*

Colleen joins us with 10 years
of massage and bodywork experience. She is a graduate of the Soma
Institute in Chicago, IL with a background in clinical massage. Her
specialty modalities include myofascial release, sports massage, cupping
therapy, and injury rehabilitation.

Deep Tissue Therapy
Deep tissue massage therapy realigns deeper muscles which can provide relief for a stiff neck, low back pain, sore shoulders, leg muscle tightness, and other chronic pain. Our massage therapy unusually focuses on a specific chronic muscle pain or injury rehabilitation. Other conditions that deep tissue massage therapy can help are limited movement, recovery from a sport injury, postural issues, muscle tension, repetitive strain injury, tennis elbow and osteoarthritis pain.
Cross Friction Therapy
Cross friction massage is a physical technique used to reduce scarring caused by inflammation by massaging the muscle fibers. This technique increases blood flow to the joint and increases oxygen which facilitates healing to allow pain free contraction of a muscle, facilitate full range of motion to a muscle and increase circulation.
Massage therapy during pregnancy is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Relive many normal pregnancy discomforts such as leg cramps, stiff neck, backaches or swelling. Pregnancy massage encourages blood and lymph circulation, reduces stress on weight-bearing joints and helps to relax nervous tension which assists in a better night sleep.
Myofascial release therapy focuses on decreasing pain and increasing ones range of motion stretch and loosens the fascia and surrounding tissues to move freely . Myofascial Release is a highly specialized stretching technique used to treat patients with a variety of soft tissue problems. When muscle fibers are damaged, the fibers and the fascia (thin tissue that covers all the organs and muscles of the body) become short and tight. This uneven stress can be transmitted through the fascia to other parts of the body, causing pain and a variety of other symptoms in areas you would not expect.
Trigger Point Therapy
A trigger point is a tight area within muscle tissue that causes pain at another part of the body. Trigger point massage therapy is designed to alleviate pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release. Patients often experience a significant decrease in pain after their first treatment. Receiving massage with trigger point therapy on a regularly can help help manage pain and stress from chronic injuries.
